Children grow by leaps and bounds in all areas each year.
In third grade, math is one of the biggest areas of growth. Many new concepts are introduced and mastery of basic facts
is expected. Multiplication will be introduced and used for several months throughout the year in preparation for fourth
grade work. Students will delve into the use of fractions and decimals. Geometry lessons will 'shape' their minds.
Like so many things, if you don't use it, you will lose it. Therefore, it is vital that students find time to practice
the basics whenever possible. While this is a part of the daily schedule, an 'extra helping' of math practice can be
fun and educational. Therefore, there are several websites here that provide you with interactive games to enhance math
skills. If you prefer the pencil and paper method, many of the sites have downloadable worksheets that can be printed
out. Another good tool is the use of flash cards. Many websites allow you to customize and print out flash cards.
ENJOY AND LEARN!
